911 Festival Pics…

Our awesome library staff! |
Hi, all!
This past Friday and Saturday marked another 911 Festival for Haleyville, Alabama. Every year, the city celebrates the first responders; men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe. Haleyville is credited as being the first municipality to put in place the 911 emergency system. Thanks to the rain and a time crunch, I wasn’t able to get many pictures, but this link is to the Haleyville Chamber of Commerce’ website. Lots of pictures there for you to see. http://haleyvillechamber.org/pages/911festival.html
It’s tradition to attend to festival with my kids and we did go in spite of the rainy morning. By noon, the rain had fizzled out and it was hot as blazes. Another tradition is to visit the Haleyville Library on festival day. (Okay, so I try to visit every Saturday.) The wonderful ladies who take pride in caring for our library were kind enough to let this crazy writer lady snap a pic for the site. Thanks so much for all you do, Carla and Suzzanne!
The festival is always either the last weekend in May or the first in June. Next year, I hope to see you there.
Brynna
