Blog Hop – Next Big Thing

Mae Clair has tagged me in The Next Big Thing blog hop. Thanks, Mae! Since I’m working on several books, I’m just going to pick one out of the hat.

What is the working title of your book?
Claiming Ana (Triple Star Ranch)

Where did the idea of the book come from?
My crit partner and I were brainstorming story ideas. Out of that was born a shifter named Howl and a challenge to write the hottest story I could. Claiming Ana (a rewrite of Gypsy Moon) and the other books in this series are set in Shady Creek, AL which mirrors my hometown.

What genre does your book fall under? Paranormal romance, but the other books in this series are romantic suspense.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in movie renditions? Hugh Jackman for Howl, and for Ana, I don’t have a clue. Maybe an unknown that just captures the role?

What is the one sentence synopsis of your book?

Just one? When witch and veternarian Ana Brannon finds a wounded man in the woods surrounding her cabin, she is determined to save his life. Little does she know her gentle way with animals and powerful magic may be just what the werewolf ordered. Howl Raven is a private investigator with a past and a secret. When he shifts outside of the full moon, he finds himself at the mercy of a werewolf hunter. Can Ana’s magic help banish the wolf from his blood or will she be doomed to suffer the destiny of her mate?

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I plan to sub this book to my editor at Lyrical Press, Inc.

How long did it take you to finish the first draft of your project?
Claiming Ana is a rewrite of a previously published title. I am still working on the first draft. About 3K left to go. Some days I might have only thirty minutes to write, so it takes a while to finish a project.

What other books would you compare this story to in your genre?
Umm. I don’t like to make comparisons. Every shifter story is different, but if the book has a strong magical heroine, a shifter hero and a small town setting, it’s a good guideline.

Claiming Ana is just one of several projects I am working on.
