What am I reading
Hi, all.
In an effort to drag myself away from work and back to the blogs at least once a week, I’m taking a peek at my to be read/ reading pile and sharing my thoughts on it with you.
And what am I reading?
Fantasy in Death by J.D. Robb aka Nora Roberts
Thoughts so far? — No surprises here. Dallas and Peabody catch a murder case of the gaming variety when Bart Minnock, president of the game software company U-Play is found beheaded in his holo-room. There are the requisite characters on hand to help them of course. Roarke, McNab and Feeney are in full computer geek heaven with all the tech stuff required to sort through this one. And so far at page 126 I haven’t figured out who dun’it yet. A first for me. And of course Eve and Roarke do their best to steam up the pages in true Nora style. Liking it so far.
Brisinger by Christopher Paolini
–Haven’t started this one yet, but the other two books were awesome. This is going to be my treat for finishing Sea’s Sorceress later this month. I love dragons.
Sizzle by Julie Garwood
Nope. Not page one read yet, but its another I can’t wait to start.
Eight Days to Live and Blood Game by Iris Johansen
Also waiting in the TBR, but I’ll probably start Sizzle first.
Now for the virtual TBR pile….
I’m working my way through about ten review ebooks, slowly. Nothing wrong with the stories, just weary eyes. I sit at a desk behind a computer for nine hours a day, then add about three more staring at the screen at night working on manuscripts and I start to see spots when I look away. Reading on my phone where the area of light is smaller seems to help, but it takes forever to read through anything.
Pay Up by Kaily Hart
Just started this one and already it promises to be a sizzler, which is great but if the plot wasn’t wonderful I’d move on. I loved Picture This by Ms. Hart and so requested Pay Up as soon as it came through the loop. Loving it so far!
Singed by Desiree Holt and Allie Standifer
This is the third (and I think last) book in this series following three brothers, Skye, Reed and River Brody. Loved the first two books and requested this one because of that. I can’t wait to get started on it.
So, now I’m wondering…what makes a book a keeper in your opinion?
Heat? Plot? Author? Care to share your TBR pile with us?
Oh, I almost forgot. If you haven’t stopped by The Romance Studio’s Spookapalooza yet you should. Their giving away tons of prizes and a kindle. Goes on through the month of October.
