>Blog Tour- Interview with author Catherine Bybee

>Beth:  Welcome paranormal romance author Catherine Bybee! Tell us a little about yourself and your books.

Catherine:  Thanks for having me here, Beth. As you’ve already said, I’m a romance author. First, however, I’m a wife and a mom. My boys are 13 going on 30 and 10. For any of you out there who have a 13-year-old boy, you know how much they think they know it all. *rolls eyes.

Beth:  I’m pleased you could join me, and boy do I know, my son is fifteen.  Binding Vows is your newest release. Can you give us a glimpse into the book?

Catherine:  I sure can. Instead of quoting my blurb, I’ll give you the gist like this.

Tara McAllister is roped into attending a Ren Faire with a friend for the weekend. Once there, she meets a hunky Scott by the name of Duncan. More than ever before Tara is tempted to relinquish her virginity, but in the end doesn’t. What she doesn’t know is that Duncan is from the past and before she knows what’s happening, Duncan whisks her away to the sixteenth century.

Beth: Scottish hunks and time travel, one of my favorite story combinations. What inspired you to write the novel?

Catherine:  I love time travel and wanted to write one where the hero surges forward and snatches a twenty-first century woman. I also wanted the book to have another layer of paranormal. The entire series is about a family of time-traveling druids. All of which have a special gift.

Beth:  Sounds like one I’ll have to check out.  Is paranormal romance the only genre you write? If so why?
Catherine:  No. Although the paranormal works well for me when I actually have time to sit down and write. I do have a full length straight historical in my hard drive, along with a contemporary and a straight erotic. So far, everything that I’ve actually published has been paranormal in one way or another.

Beth: Do you have anything new in the works?

Catherine:  I have two werewolf stories coming from The Wild Rose Press next year. The first, Before The Moon Rises will be here early February. The second book in the ‘Vow’s’ series is in edits as well. So with any luck it will be released by summer of next year. We’ll see.

Beth: What advice would you give unpublished writers?
Catherine:  My biggest advice to new, unpublished writers is to write. I know it sounds simple, but I’ve heard a lot of writers talk about how they aren’t published and they are ‘working’ on their manuscripts. I say to them… FINISH IT! You can’t sell what isn’t done.

Beth: When you set aside your work in progress for the day, what sort of books do you like to read?

Catherine:  Paranormal Romance, Erotic Romance, Historical Romance, Chic-Lit Romance, Romantic Suspense. I’ll read just about anything romance. I love a good series and give me a trilogy with a common theme and I’ll plow through them until I’m finished.

Beth: Where can we find you on the net?

Catherine:  The best places to find me are my website and my blog.

I am on Twitter and Facebook and Myspace. Feel free to follow and friend me. But I’ll warn you, if you have a twitter profile that talks about naked pictures of you and friends, I’ll skip ya. Crazy what people will put in their profile, huh? Just because I write erotic romance at times, doesn’t mean I want to see your bits! LOL

Beth:  LOL.  I’ll second that!  Where can we find out more about your books?

Catherine:  Binding Vows is available at www.thewildrosepress.com

And you can see my other titles at Red Rose Publishing and The Wilder Rose Press.

Thanks again for having me here today, Beth. I do have a couple of contests running throughout my blog tour, so be sure and check out the details on my contest page on my website.

Beth:  Thanks for being here, Catherine!
